Current decisions and open questions
Updated: 2026-09-06. Current state only; implementation details live in HOMEPAGE-V1.md.
Confirmed direction
| Area | Current decision |
|---|---|
| Name and Site | W VIBE; w-vibe slug; public; reuse the existing project |
| Format | Mobile-friendly web experience; no wallet needed to browse |
| Audience | Gen Z creators/streamers, especially those with substantial spending power, plus their communities; individual rare finders can also flex |
| Core appeal | Public ownership, rarity, mystery and recognizable change; no fixed “digital collectibles” category |
| Trust | No cap: truthful prices, ownership, claims and sample/live distinctions; retain the flex |
| Acquisition | Buy a collection of disclosed rare assets at a defined price, or discover an eligible individual asset; discovery varies by asset |
| Collections | May contain unrelated rare assets; no connected virtual world or geographic mirror. Ownable parents/sub-assets are a separate model still to define |
| Current appearance language | Working term Look, paired with a name; Shift describes a change. Avoid unexplained Form numbers |
| Moments | Events worth sharing: large trades, price increases/cuts, discoveries and meaningful Look changes. Show who, what changed and the before/after; keep sale, ask and valuation distinct |
| Promo and video | Moments is the promo/sharing hub in navigation. Public visitors share; members clip for campaigns. Separate unlinked /reel plays three concept videos, animated intertitles and an exploratory watch Look Shift in one frame; member/reward rules remain open |
| Technology | Chain identity/ownership/finder and issuance-fixed traits/schedule; program calculates rarity and test prices; private application authenticates and renders Looks |
| Data storage and freshness | No D1 or inventory snapshot/TTL cache yet; batched RPC, request-owned cancellation/deadlines, time/slot/generation and obsolete-response guards |
| Public inventory | Surface big mystery Stashes and selected rare, expensive items; keep other inventory out of public feeds. Thresholds and reveal details remain open |
| Asset issuance | Evolution-dominant formula plus a smaller authored behavior factor; program-derived birth price and immutable acquisition/game inputs. Minting; production supply caps remain open |
| Rarity direction | Evolution is primary; minute-based evolution should be exceptionally scarce. Optional deterministic intrinsic complexity is secondary; evolution alone remains acceptable if complexity lacks a meaningful basis |
| Minting logic | One validated asset-recipe pipeline derives rarity under a fixed issuance policy; randomness is optional. The current synthetic trait assignment is a test harness, not the accepted production rule |
| Issuer | W VIBE creates its assets; external public minting is outside the product. Platform-only issuance is now enforced by the program |
| Current priority | Short first-pass conversations for each category, document, then revisit before implementing. Watches and cats first passes complete; original, unbranded cars next |
| Cat concept | Animated cartoon cats, progressively revealed, then animation begins. Selected first-pass direction; exact style, timing, behavior, traits and implementation remain open. No realistic cat pictures; Discovery/acquisition undecided |
| Discovery | Current generic puzzle gates are not the accepted product design. Clues must relate meaningfully to the asset; decide discovery per asset. Watches: first-pass direction is no Discovery |
| Development | Iterate creative, cycles, functionality and technical work together; define display/action before its API contract |
| Publishing | Current Devnet integration, notes and planned navigation are authorized for public publishing without repeated confirmation |
| Documentation | Maintain current truth; remove stale decisions and discussion lineage; retain useful dated technical evidence |
Implemented Devnet test
The Flex, Moves and Moments use 100 actual Devnet records: three temporary image types, five issuance-bound schedules, four birth rarity tiers, 61 revealed and 39 hidden items, 35 featured Dubs and eight Stashes. Controlled activity includes individual sales, a five-item mystery-Stash sale, a gift, a claim and seller-ask changes. Scheduled Shifts show the immediately previous/current Look and program price. Hidden members and their events are excluded server-side. See HOMEPAGE-V1.md for the complete contract.
The temporary renderer authenticates an encrypted seed and its canonical recipe, then maps the program schedule to type-specific named Looks. The three current adapters output images; video/3D require new adapters. Free, rising, falling and flat test price profiles are covered. Public sharing preserves each selected Moment snapshot; clipping membership, clipping rewards and event-driven video remain unavailable. A standalone concept-video sequence is available through its direct URL.
The basic V3 formula weights evolution above all secondary trait combinations. The initial active samples have been reissued under these rules; old immutable records are retained as evidence. The authored behavior factor is a provisional input, not measured asset complexity. See Minting.
First-pass asset boundaries
Cats are their own category, not generic creatures. Cars and watches use original unbranded designs; authorized sponsorship is a future option. Artwork is not a current asset category. No mandatory asset coordinates, connected world or real-world place ownership is planned. Watches currently have no discovery route; cases and one-second evolution are unselected possibilities. Asset workshop.
Working vocabulary and options
Dub, Stash, Sealed Stash, Grail, Look/Shift, Moves, Crew and Cop/List/Swap are provisional product vocabulary. Lit may fit a standout find/reveal; glow-up may fit an impressive visual transformation. L and any risk label need a factual trigger. See NAMING.md.
Open product questions
- What is an individual collectible, what stays recognizable and what changes? Compare the options in ASSET-SYSTEM.md.
- Production visual transformations, final cadences, permanent development versus cycling, and any owner influence. The current test cycles on an issuance-fixed schedule.
- How should the pilot’s clues develop; which issued assets award ownership, discounts or reveals; which rarities are huntable; how is bulk-purchase finder credit assigned?
- What does a Stash buyer know before payment, and when/how are contents revealed?
- Rarity quotas/assignment at issuance, initial price versus minimum permitted ask versus market floor, paid/free boundaries, refunds, currency, discounts and one-versus-many transaction settlement.
- Which descriptor and rule commitments are immutable; decoding/key versions; production rule enforcement within the selected hybrid split.
- Teaser versus full reveal for surfaced items, Stash disclosure, hidden-inventory protection and public visibility after discovery.
- Whether a computed value estimate is useful; its inputs, basis and uncertainty. Evolution does not imply a gain in value.
- Featured ranking/count, identity display, community grouping and Crew rights.
- Full wallet onboarding/custody, production claim policy and marketplace authorization.
- Clipping-program eligibility, public downloads, reward basis/budget, verification, rights and whether pre-enrollment clips can qualify.
Optional explorations
Creator/brand self-service, community purchases and sponsored hunts; fixed rarity prices; bulk discounts; an illustrative million-dollar collection; a future separate platform currency. These are not offers, validated demand or deployed features. Branding/handles/ticker clearance is not established by renaming the Site.
Technical boundaries
All writes remain verified Devnet operations. No Mainnet money, coin launch, liquidity pool or private execution deployment is authorized. The encrypted record is a custom account protocol, not a standard NFT mint. Production settlement, issuer controls, durable history, key recovery, supply/rarity auditing and abuse controls remain unresolved. See Architecture and Status.
